You may be asking what is Blended Photography! Simply put: it is a process of blending the background around your subject.
Why would you want to blend the background? An example would be if you took a photo in a zoo, and the background had a fence or house, really anything that detracts from the subject photographed.

There are different ways to accomplish blended photography. One is by blurring the background with different types of brushes. Another might be by adding a texture and blending it into the photo with one or more types of brushes, adding layers, textures or a combination of them all. I use photoshop to accomplish the task. Below are some photos that I have applied a variety of these techniques to achieve the final images below.
Photoshop gives you a lot of tools to accomplish blended photography, sometimes referred to as digital blending, enhanced photo and there are some other names out there to achieve this type of finish. The blending can be simple or complex depending on the photo and what you want the end result to be. This also adds a bit of artistry to your prints.
Blending doesn’t work on all photos and sometimes it’s a trial and error process until you conclude that it isn’t going to work with a particular photo. Other times you can spot it right away by looking at the lighting, coloring, details of the subject or background..
Bottom-line is I enjoy working the process and during the process, saving a great subject shot. When shooting nature photography, you don’t get to pick your backgrounds.
